Bouygues UK Former Chair, Fabienne Viala, Joins SymTerra as First Non-Executive Director

London, UK 16.12.2025 -  SymTerra, the UK-based construction communication and reporting tool, today announced the appointment of Fabienne Viala as the company’s first Non-Executive Director (NED). Viala, former Chair of Bouygues Construction UK and CEO of Bouygues UK, joins the business as both an investor and strategic advisor as SymTerra accelerates its growth across the UK and Europe.

During her eight years leading Bouygues’ UK operations, Viala oversaw some of the country’s most complex infrastructure and building projects, championing digital transformation and operational excellence throughout the organisation. Her appointment marks a major milestone for SymTerra as the company continues to expand adoption across contractors, subcontractors, and infrastructure owners.

 Viala said:

“I’m excited to be investing in SymTerra and very proud to be their first NED. I was so impressed by Sarah and John – their vision, their deep understanding of the industry, and the way they’ve solved one of construction’s biggest headaches: messy site communication and documentation. It’s no wonder so many clients are already on board. By capturing updates, photos, and project data in one simple, easy to use reporting system, SymTerra really helps teams work smarter and improve efficiency across every project.”

SymTerra was founded by Sarah Crawley and John Ryan, both from construction and engineering backgrounds, who experienced first-hand the communication, evidence, and documentation challenges that delay projects and impact commercial outcomes. The platform centralises photos, updates, and field data into a tamper-proof, easy-to-use system that provides clarity for site teams, commercial teams, and clients alike.

Founder & CEO Sarah Crawley, who previously worked at Mace said:

“Having someone of Fabienne’s calibre believe in what we’re building is incredibly meaningful. Her leadership across UK construction speaks for itself, but what resonated most is her genuine understanding of what does and doesn’t work on site. SymTerra was built by people who’ve lived the reality of project delivery, and Fabienne’s experience and perspective are perfectly aligned with our mission to create tech that truly works for the industry.”

SymTerra is currently deployed across infrastructure, utilities, commercial construction, and large residential projects, with clients using the platform to streamline evidence capture, improve collaboration, support compliance, and reduce administrative overhead.
